Dharma Doll

I began making these dolls as a result of viewing a charming documentary short film called, "Why Do You Have Black Dolls?" by Samantha Knowles.  The trailer is viewable via YouTube.

Dolls serve as a reflection of our culture as well as an expression of our creativity. My creation of each doll connects with my inner child and brings joyful feelings. Like many of you I work a stressful job and have the pressures of family and life to contend with on a daily basis. As a part of my Dharma practice, I wanted to a unique way to gather merit and that's when I began making dolls as gifts.

This is one of my favorites. Her name is Dharma. She represents wisdom, intuition, serenity and the result of embracing my inner child.

I hope you find moments out of your day to embrace and nurture your Dharma.
